My name is Lucas Meek...

I have been captain of the University of Washington Men’s Soccer team for the past 2 years and this amazing program has taught me so much about giving back to the community. After being injured just before the 2022 MLS draft, I was still able to be drafted by Inter Miami in the second round, although with the plan to remain at the University of Washington for another year while I completed my rehab. With the amazing opportunity to stay at UW I wanted to create an event where I can give back to the amazing community that has supported me. 

In 2020 my grandfather, Bart Amey, was diagnosed with ALS. He has been one of the most inspirational people in my own and my family’s life. Always teaching me to treat others with kindness and to never back down from introducing myself to someone new. I racked my brain for a while on how to best honor him and his legacy. As the avid Husky and sports fan that he is, the idea of hosting my own soccer tournament where all the proceeds are given to the ALS association came to the forefront.
